The installer leaves a working system with sample data. This chapter takes you from that first sign-in to a real company name, a currency, working e-mail, one product you can sell, one way to be paid, a support department and a test order that you pay and accept yourself. Do the steps in this order. It takes about an hour.

1. Sign in and look around

Open https://your-domain/admin/ and sign in with the administrator you made in the wizard. The dashboard shows stat tiles and widgets; the top menu has the groups Clients, Orders, Billing, Support, Reports, Utilities and Setup. The admin tour explains each one. Open Utilities → System Health & PHP Info and Utilities → Automation Status to confirm that nothing is red and the cron heartbeat is Alive (see Installing).

2. Company settings

Setup → General Settings has twelve tabs. For now fill in these:

TabFields
GeneralCompany Name, System URL (check it: it goes into every e-mail and pay link), Logo, Company Address and Pay To Text (both printed on invoices), Brand Colour. Switch on Force SSL in the admin area once your certificate works.
LocalisationDefault Language, Time Zone, Date Format, Default Country.
OrderingDefault Order Form Template, Allow Client Registration, Auto Accept Free Orders, Auto Accept Paid Orders, Terms of Service URL and Require Acceptance of the Terms.
InvoicesNext Invoice Number, Invoice Number Format, Payment Terms (days), late fees, reminders, and the automatic suspension and termination rules.

Press Save Changes on each tab. Every tab is covered in Settings.

3. Currency

The installer made USD (the default) and BDT. Open Billing → Currencies. Decide your default currency before you price products: prices are stored per currency, and the default currency cannot be deleted. To sell in another currency add it with Currency Code, Prefix, Suffix, Format and Exchange Rate against the default, then use Update Product Prices to price your products in it. Delete the currency you do not need only if no client uses it. See Invoices and payments.

4. Mail

Open Setup → Mail Settings. The default Mail Type is PHP Mail, which works on most hosts but often lands in spam. For serious use choose SMTP and fill in SMTP Host, SMTP Port (25, 465 for SSL or 587 for TLS), SMTP Username, SMTP Password and SMTP Encryption, then set Global Email Sender Name and Global Email Sender Address (an address of your own domain, so that SPF and DKIM match). Save, then use the Test the mail settings card to send yourself a message. The cards at the top show how many messages were sent and failed today. If the test fails, read Utilities → Email Message Log; the error is saved there. Edit the wording of any message later under Setup → Email Templates.

5. A product group and a product

Open Setup → Products/Services. The installer made the group Shared Hosting with the products Starter, Business and Pro. You can edit them or delete them. To make your own:

  1. In Create a New Group enter Group Name, a Headline and Tagline, choose the Order Form Template (Standard Cart, Modern, Comparison Table or Slider) and press Create Group.
  2. Press Create a New Product. On the Details tab choose Product Type, Product Group, Product Name, a Short Description and Product Description, and the Module Auto Setup rule.
  3. On the Pricing tab choose the Payment Type and enter the price (and setup fee) for each billing cycle you offer. Leave a price empty to switch that cycle off.
  4. On the Module Settings tab choose None if you set accounts up by hand, or a provisioning module such as AIOhPanel or cPanel and the server group (see Services and servers).
  5. Save Changes, then open the Links tab: it shows the direct "add to cart" links.

Open https://your-domain/store in another browser to see how the product looks to a visitor. Products, options and promotions are in Products.

6. A payment gateway

Open Setup → Payment Gateways. Bank Transfer is already on. Press Configure, enter your Bank details, tick Let clients report a transfer if you want that, and save. To take cards or wallets open the tab All Payment Gateways (PayPal, Stripe, bKash, Nagad, SSLCommerz, Razorpay, Paystack, a manual mobile wallet), press Activate on the one you want, and fill in its keys on the settings page that opens. Every gateway page shows a Callback URL: give it to the gateway for payment notices. Put your preferred gateway in Default Payment Method. Details per gateway are in Gateways.

7. A support department

Open Support → Support Departments. The installer made Support, Sales and Billing. Edit one: set Email Address (tickets and replies are sent from it), choose Assigned Admins, and decide Clients Only and Hidden. Add departments with Department Name and Description. See Support.

8. A test order

  1. Clients → Add New Client: enter a name and your own second e-mail address. Leave the password empty to have one made and e-mailed.
  2. Orders → Add New Order: pick the client and press Continue, add your product with a billing cycle, choose a Payment Method and press Place Order. Keep Generate the invoice and Send the order confirmation e-mail ticked.
  3. Open Billing → Invoices, open the new invoice and use the Add Payment tab to record a payment. (A client would pay with the gateway on the invoice.)
  4. Open Orders → Pending Orders and press Accept Order. The service now shows in the client's profile, and the welcome e-mail goes out.
  5. Sign in as the client with the Login button in Clients → View / Search Clients, check the invoice in the client area, then come back. See Orders and Clients.

If you added the test client by mistake, delete the order and the client again. Then you are ready for real clients: share the address of your store and client area.
